That is great that their publishing company is really doing their job so Social Distortion may never have to play a show again unless they are being paid a 50,000 up front advance on a concert with a gross potential of 45,000.

yeah, social distortion is probably one of the most mainstream underground bands there is, if ya know what I mean. It seems weird, thought, that old school bands like Bad Religion and the Vandals get more credit for influencing the newer generation of punk bands. Not too much is ever written on social d in magazines, not like it matters but c'mon, they were the first punk band of that time to incorporate melodies into their songs and have the balls to take a whole other musical direction. Mike Ness said it best in one interview - "All those other bands talked about revolution, no one ever talked about evolution."

Unkle Skellie...If you tellin me The Clash and Generation X along with countless others didnt have melodies...im afraid you in a bad way...The Clash took things wayyyyy farther than social d ever has direction wise...the clash incorporated EVERYTHING

hey cancer, before u tear me a new asshole i think you may have misunderstood me there, i said the first punk band of that time - not of all time. i was pretty much referring to minor threat, exploited - bands who were there with them in the early 80's. To trace the origins of the first punk lp, might have to go back to '69 with the Stooges. xoxo
